Today I am thankful for:

-Hills of autumn colors backed by blue sky and cottony clouds
-Songbirds
-My husband’s support
-Long hot baths
-The beautiful, rust red dragonfly resting in front of me
-Afternoons spent sipping tea, alone or with friends
-Meandering walks on country roads
-The sun’s warming rays
-The Christmas light tree, built around an electrical utility pole, which appeared the other day in the middle of a rice field near our house
-My families’ love
-Turtlenecks
-Mochi
-The dog that howls along with ‘Rajio Taisou” every afternoon at 3 p.m.
-Sharp knives and how much time they save me during dinner preparation
-Not actually cutting off the entire end of my finger with said sharp knife the other day during dinner preparation
-Finally having a subscription to an English newspaper (courtesy of Craig’s new position)
-My health
-Handwritten letters appearing in the mailbox on a rough day
-The quiet here
-My new book club
-Neighbors appearing on your doorstep at all hours of the day with various offerings from their gardens
-This moment (sitting in the sunshine with the screen door open, swinging my feet off the porch, gazing out across the fall fields)
